Our History
San Diego Business Chamber was first incorporated in 1980 as the Rancho Bernardo Chamber of Commerce. Since its inception, the Chamber has strived to support and advocate on behalf of businesses in San Diego.
In 2005, Rancho Bernardo Chamber of Commerce merged with the I-15 Diamond Gateway Chamber of Commerce to form the San Diego North Chamber of Commerce. Continuing with its original mission, San Diego North Chamber of Commerce became further dedicated to encouraging economic growth throughout the northern communities of the City of San Diego.
In 2009, the San Diego North Chamber of Commerce gained regional stature, and the area of coverage grew to encompass many cities and communities in San Diego County.
In May 2014, the Chamber rebranded itself with a new logo, name, and look to become the North San Diego Business Chamber.
In July 2025, the Chamber released its 2025-2028 Strategic Plan with a new mission, vision, and values to guide the organization.
On June 24, 2026, the Chamber rebranded as the San Diego Business Chamber. In its current capacity, the Chamber reaches over 800 businesses throughout San Diego County and advocates for businesses on a regional, state, and federal level.
